New Hampshire House Liberals Try Back-Door Attempt To Pass Medicaid Expansion
(January 7, 2014) - Today, Citizens for a Strong New Hampshire criticized the actions of liberal leaders in the New Hampshire State House for their expected attempt to try and pass Medicaid expansion as an amendment to a bill slated to be killed.
Rep. Cindy Rosenwald of Nashua has released a 12 page amendment to HB 544 that would expand Medicaid as proposed in the special legislative session in November 2013. This bill will be voted on during Wednesday's opening house session.
Citizens for a Strong New Hampshire spokesman Derek Dufresne released the following statement:
"This unorthodox attempt to ram Medicaid expansion through the New Hampshire House by Governor Hassan, Speaker Norelli, Rep. Rosenwald and others is eerily reminiscent of the way Senator Shaheen and Rep. Shea-Porter (NH-01) helped rush Obamacare through Congress years ago. With the daily news on how a failing Obamacare is hurting millions of Americans, the last thing Granite Staters want is another disastrous liberal program affecting their healthcare and pocketbooks.
"The fact that Governor Hassan and her colleagues in the New Hampshire House are using such unconventional methods to try and pass Medicaid expansion is just another example of how liberals in Concord will stop at nothing to force yet another big government catastrophe on hard working Granite State families."
